The club observed a moment of silence in honor of RI President elect Sam F. Owori
Tom presented Bob Copley with a pin and award in recognition of his service during the Vietnam War era. Thank you for your service Bob.
The club discussed options for service projects including a family friendly pumpkin carving event at the local fire house and a deer collection in coalition with the Elks Lodge. Wayne will be reaching out to the Elks for further information and a possible presentation. Additional service project ideas include a dish to pass dinner with the residents at Mill stream and volunteering at the local nursing home.
Our club has 4 service projects listed on Rotary Club Central. Completed projects are the Vietnam Veterans motorcycle ride and participation in the recent parade to assist the VFW and local volunteer fire department. Service projects “in progress include the Hope Food Pantry and book moving to benefit the friends of the library book sale.
Foundation goal for this year is $2800. Currently we have collected $275 towards that end.
Our annual auction is 8/18. Colleen is preparing lists for members to seek donations.
