Newsletter 2/26 – St Patrick’s

Monthly Duties:

  • Pledge – Bethany
  • 4 Way Test – Shawn
  • Invocation – Tom

The meeting was held at St Patrick’s church hall.  Jeremy Caza was our guest.  He gave a presentation on estate planning and charitable planning.  He discussed the overall process and difference of transferring an estate while alive and after death; importance of a will, liquidation of assets, and health and financial proxies.

Bob Balk made the club aware of a death in the community and the potential to assist the family through a fundraising event in the future.

Cayuga County Office of the Aging sent a letter to the club seeking volunteers for the county Meals on Wheels program.

Bethany reported that the discussion is on going with the elementary school regarding the third grade book project.  The initial book requested is, unfortunately, no longer in print and not available.

There will be a Polar Plunge on March 23rd.  There is a donation jar at the Betty Blue with funds raised going to support the Special Olympics.

Also, at the Betty Blue, a Horseshoe League meeting will be held April 30th; the club meeting will be cancelled.  This is also the meeting directly before the District Conference – May 2-4 in Lake Placid.
